The Environment

Sant Antoni de Calonge is a town that grew from a few houses. In Marakasa, we are located on the second sea line, about two minutes from the beautiful bay of Sant Antonio and Palamós, with crystal-clear waters that stretch along approximately five kilometers. Parallel to the sea is the magnificent Sant Antoni promenade, which connects, to the left, with the Palamós promenade and takes you to the very heart of one of the country’s main fishing ports. There you can visit the fish auction and soak up the authentic marine atmosphere of the Costa Brava. To the right, the promenade takes you to Torre Valentina and the secluded coves typical of this coast.

Behind Marakasa lies the plain and the medieval town of Calonge, where you can stroll on foot or by bike. Not far, the plain begins to rise towards the incredible Les Gavarres Natural Park, where you can lose yourself in the mountainous massif of tangled forests of holm oaks, cork oaks, and some lost pines. And if you don’t want to get lost, there are marked routes to walk or drive to different places, for example, Fitor, a Romanesque hermitage that unexpectedly emerges in a meadow amid the lushness of the forest.
